Toowoomba Medicare Urgent Clinic is now OPEN. If you have an urgent medical issue that is not life-threatening, but it can’t wait to see your usual GP, the Medicare Urgent Care Clinic is a service which provides free, immediate treatment and care for patients with or are experiencing non-life-threatening injuries or illnesses. The clinic is located within Toowoomba Medical and Dental centre and is open 7 days a week. Opening hours are Monday – Friday 7:00 am to 10:00 pm,  Saturday – Sunday 8:00am to 10:00 pm.

It provides timely care for urgent injuries and illnesses such as minor infections, fractures and sports injuries, minor cuts and abrasions, insect bites, rashes, respiratory conditions like fevers and coughs, and gastro conditions, like diarrhoea and vomiting.  Upon booking an appointment or arriving at the clinic, a nurse will triage and admit to the service if suitable.

Bookings can be made online, via phone on 07 4642 2025 or walk-in appointments are available. If it is a life-threatening injury/emergency please phone 000 or visit your nearest emergency room.

Script renewals and electronic scripts at Goombungee

At Goombungee Family Practice we use E-scripts which can be sent to your phone or to your preferred pharmacy. When requesting a script please advise the Doctor if you prefer your script to be sent to your mobile number, direct to the pharmacy or if you would prefer a printed paper script. A gentle reminder to ensure your mobile number is current on our records if you opt for the direct to mobile option.

Repeat Scripts

We kindly ask that you plan ahead for your repeat scripts. Last minute scripts are not always possible, as appointments cannot always be guaranteed. It is always a good idea to check your scripts ahead of public holidays or vacations and plan for what you will need in advance.

Doctor does not write repeat scripts without consultation, either in person or by phone. Fees apply for patients ineligible for concession. It is a Medicare requirement that you have visited the clinic in the past 6-12 months for us to provide a repeat script.
